Trying to explain Anpanman, the Japanese superhero with the edible head, to my mom is a concept.

“So, did I get this right, he lets people eat his head if/when they are starving?”

-Yes, and not just people, anyone who needs it.

“His head is made of bread?”

-Yes.

“His head is a bun? Filled with read bean paste?”

-Yes, yes, yes.

“A bun for a head? And it just flies off *wooshing sound* like this *wild arm movements* and gets replaced with a new one every time his health goes down?”

-Yes, see, you understood everything!

“And children love him?”

-Yes, he is one of the most popular, if not the most popular superhero among kids.

“And they aren’t afraid of the head thing?”

-No, haha.

“So his head is really a pastry?”
